Why Transparency Matters in Long Beach

Transparency is essential, but it must lead to real results.

​

As Mayor, I will:

​

- Record every meeting with developers, lobbyists, and special interest groups — no more backroom deals.

​

- Open the books to our citizens for public scrutiny and demand all past expenditures to be published.

​

- Create a public dashboard showing exactly where every tax dollar is being spent.

- Require every department to submit quarterly reports with receipts and detailed overtime expenditures, all uploaded to the city website for public review.

​

- Assemble a cross-department team focused on infrastructure, pothole repair, surveying, and quality-of-life improvements. This team will identify problems and fix them as we go, starting with the highest priority locations first.

​

- Personally be in at least two council districts every single work day (probably more), working directly with this team to cut through bureaucracy and get the work done.

​

Long Beach deserves a government that is both transparent and effective. I will show up every day to listen to residents, fix problems in real time, and make sure taxpayers can clearly see where their money is going.

​

As a police officer, Marine Corps, and National Guard veteran, I know what real public service looks like. It’s time to bring that same accountability to City Hall.
